About the Hobbit
‘The Hobbit’ reflects our minimalist approach to life; simple, efficient, sustainable, low maintenance, yet stylish and comfortable. The house is built to maximise thermal and electrical efficiency. The concrete slab is insulated and heated by both passive solar and state of the art hydronics, double glazed floor to ceiling windows and full insulation. The house generates its own electricity but is backed up by the grid. Water comes from rainfall collected off the roof and waste is recycled.
